Children flying with «Rossiya airlines» OJSC may be either accompanied or not accompanied by adult passengers.
Infants under 2 years old
On international air lines, 10% of the respective normal or special fare of the accompanying adult passenger shall be paid for the carriage of one infant under 2 years of his age, if the infant does not occupy a separate seat and is accompanied by an adult passenger, unless there are any special conditions for applying such a fare.
On domestic air lines, the carriage of one infant under 2 years old, if the infant does not occupy a separate seat and is accompanied by an adult passenger, shall not be paid for, unless there are any special conditions for applying such a fare.
Under this fare an infant shall be carried by the adult attendant without providing a separate seat for the baby, i.e. only one seat shall be reserved for the adult passenger, however, the baby’s name shall be stated in the reservation surname element. Tickets for infants under 2 years of age provided with confirmed seats (upon decision of the accompanying passenger) shall be paid for applying the fare for children from 2 to 12 years old.
If one adult passenger is carrying a second and more infants under 2 years of age, this shall be paid for applying the fare for children from 2 to 12 years old.
Free baggage allowance for an infant without a separate seat shall be 10 kg.
Children from 2 to 12 years old
Special discounts are applied to carriage of children from 2 to 12 years old. For more detailed information, please contact representative offices of «Rossiya airlines» OJSC or air tickets sale agencies.
Children aged between two and 12 years are given a separate seat in the aircraft, information on travelling children must be included in the reservation of the passenger, with whom the child is travelling, and the date of birth or the age of the child shall be stated.
Free baggage allowance for children aged between two and 12 years corresponds to the free baggage allowance for adult passengers. If baggage is carried to an amount exceeding the free baggage allowance, it shall be paid for according to the respective fare for the carriage of excess baggage.
Unaccompanied minors
Transportation of unaccompanied miners is carried out only under the preliminary coordination with airline. Transportation booking directly ahead of a start at the airport is strictly forbidden.
Minors may be carried without accompanying adults with international flights of «Rossiya airlines» OJSC, the child must not be younger than 5 years of age (on domestic lines a child must be always accompanied by adults).
Upon request of parents, minors aged between 12 and 16 may be accompanied. The service shall be ordered for the child when the ticket is bought, and shall be paid for to the amount of 100% of the respective normal or special fare for an adult passenger, provided all required documents are available.
A fee shall be exacted for the carriage of unaccompanied minors in compliance with the fares application rules.
Rules of acceptance for transportation of unaccompanied minors:
From 2 to 5 years old – transportation of children accompanied by representatives of the airlines is not permitted
From 5 to 12 years old – a child must be accompanied by a representative(s) of the airlines, if he/she is not accompanied by a personal attendant (no younger than 18 years old)
From 12 to 16 years old – a teenager may be accompanied by representatives of the airlines upon request of parents
Liability of parents
Parents and guardians shall:
- Prepare the required documents
- Parents or other attendants shall bring the child to the airport of departure and stay in the airport until the aircraft departs
- Agree upon meeting the child in the airport of arrival
- When a request is submitted for transportation of an unaccompanied minor, the parents or guardians shall fill out and sign a respective document (Request for Carriage), stating all required details of such carriage
- If no adults meet an unaccompanied minor upon arrival, - pay all expenses related to a return carriage (meals, accommodation, ground transport, return fare, etc.)
Liability of the airlines
The airlines shall bear full liability for an unaccompanied minor from the moment of transfer:
By the parents, a guardian or an adult trustee in the course of departure or
By the airlines of departure in the place of transfer until the minor is returned to his/her parents, guardians or an adult trustee upon arrival or to the receiving carrier in the place of transfer.
Choice of flight
- When a flight is reserved for an unaccompanied minor, it is preferable that a direct route be chosen;
- If this is impossible, a day-time flight with the minimum possible number of stopovers shall be chosen;
- Minors shall not be accepted for transportation, if the airport is to be changed in the place of transfer.
Parents or other accompanying persons must deliver the child to the airport of departure and stay at the airport until the departure of the aircraft. When a request is submitted for permission for transportation of an unaccompanied minor, the parents or guardians shall fill out and sign a Request for Carriage of an Unaccompanied Minor, stating all details of meeting at the airport of destination. The form shall be given to the parents of the minor when the ticket is bought or when the flight is booked; besides, traffic documents shall be prepared in compliance with the legislation of the Russian Federation (an agreement for the child's right of crossing the state border, certified by a notary) and of the country of destination. Prior to arrival in the airport, the parents shall fill in the form given in the annex.
